Kratom is legal in Oklahoma and throughout the state without any issues. However, in 2014, House Bill 2666 banned Kratom and classified it as a Schedule I controlled substance. The action and advocacy by people and the American Kratom Association managed to get that bill reversed.

In 2020, there was an attempt to regulate Kratom, this time in favor of users, and everything seemed to indicate that the bill would pass. However, it didn’t make it past the Health and Human Services Committee.

In May 2021, the Oklahoma Kratom Consumer Protection Act was passed, regulating Kratom in Oklahoma. This bill requires Kratom products to be correctly labeled and prohibits selling to anyone under 18.
