What is Elephant Kratom?

Kratom is a tropical tree grown in Southeast Asia that has been used by the locals for centuries as a herbal remedy. Its technical name is Mitragyna speciosa and it is a plant of the coffee family. The leaves of Kratom are chewed, dried, and crushed to a fine powder or brewed in a tea.

In these leaves, we find the active alkaloids mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, which act on the opioid receptors in the brain to give various responses. Kratom provides a sedative and analgesic effect in larger doses and has a stimulant and focus-boosting effect in smaller doses. In both small and large doses, it also gives an overall feeling of well-being.

Kratom comes in different strains and veins. The strain is the name of the Kratom variety, often relating to where it was grown, and the vein is the color of the veins. There is Red Vein Kratom, Green Vein Kratom, White Vein Kratom, and Yellow Vein Kratom, all of which have different effects on the body.

One particularly rare strain of Kratom is Elephant Kratom. It is loved by many but not always easy to source.

In this article, we will answer the following questions:

What is Elephant Kratom?

Elephant Kratom is a particular strain of Kratom that is grown predominantly in Indonesia, in the northwest of Sumatra Island. The area is very fertile, and the leaves of Elephant Kratom grow large and resemble an elephant’s ear, thus giving it its name.

Elephant Kratom is not grown industrially, as the area where it is harvested is not easy to access. It is a rare strain that is grown mostly by Ayurvedic farmers, who grow a completely organic product free of chemicals or fertilizers.

What types of Elephant Kratom are there?

Since the vein color of the leaf is determined by the soil conditions and the leaf age, you can get green, white, red, and yellow Elephant Kratom. The most popular and readily available is Green Elephant Kratom, followed by Red Elephant Kratom.

What effect does Green Elephant Kratom have?

Green Elephant Kratom acts as a milder stimulant than most other green Kratoms, which makes it great for new Kratom users who want to ease into it.

Some reported benefits of Green Elephant Kratom include:

  • An energy boost
  • A concentration and focus boost
  • A sense of well-being and improved mood
  • A calming effect
  • Relief for mild pain

While Red Vein Kratom is usually associated with pain relief, Green Vein Kratom is a good balance between the stronger stimulant effects of White Vein Kratom and the sedative effects of Red Vein Kratom, with a bit of pain-relieving potential as well.

What effect does Red Elephant Kratom have?

Red Elephant Kratom acts as a milder sedative than some other red vein strains and is said to take effect more gradually.

Some reported benefits of Red Elephant Kratom include:

  • Pain relief
  • Aid with sleep
  • Mood elevation
  • Relaxation

Again, it is good for new Kratom users as it has a milder effect and doesn’t sedate the user as much as other red vein strains.

What dosage of Elephant Kratom should I take?

This really depends on whether you’ve used Kratom before, as well as on many other factors, such as body weight, metabolic rate, tolerance, etc. Our recommendation is to start with 1-2 grams and wait around 45 minutes. If you don’t feel enough of an effect, then you can take another gram and continue in this way until you reach the desired effect.

A general guideline for Green Elephant Kratom is as follows:

  • Mild pain relief: 1-4 grams
  • Energy boost and a stimulant effect: 2-5 grams
  • Relaxation and a sedative effect: 5-8 grams

A general guideline for Red Elephant Kratom is as follows:

  • Energy boost and focus: 1-3 grams
  • Relaxation and help with anxiety: 3-5 grams
  • Pain relief and a sedative effect: 5-8 grams

Where can I get Elephant Kratom?
