Kratom Smoothies
Kratom is a tree of the coffee plant family that grows in Southeast Asia. For centuries, the locals have used it to make an herbal remedy that acts as a stimulant to start the day or a relaxing tea to wind down in the evenings. This is due to its alkaloids, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, which interact with the opioid receptors in the brain to cause the desired effects. The vein and strain of kratom determine these alkaloid properties.
Some people, however, don’t enjoy the leafy, bitter taste of kratom. This bitterness is due to the alkaloid content, meaning that the more alkaloids the leaf has, the more bitter it will taste. If you struggle with the taste of kratom, there are various ways to mask it or consume it to make it more palatable, such as in tea.
In this article, we’ll look at ways of mixing kratom into smoothies for a more pleasant taste.

In terms of kratom dosage, you would dose as you usually do when you take kratom. If you’re new to kratom, we recommend starting with a low dosage and increasing it gradually.
- Microdose: less than 2g—for a mildly energetic effect, use it in place of your morning cup of coffee.
- Low to medium dose: 2-6g—take for a stimulating, energizing effect.
- High dose: over 6g—take for a calming and relaxing effect.
- Heavy dose: over 8g—take for a calming effect. This dose is not recommended for most people.
A rough guide to measuring your dose is that one rounded teaspoon equals 2.5-3.5g, and one rounded tablespoon equals 6-8g. You could also use a scale for accuracy.
