Many nervously awaited the WHO Decision on its review of kratom. Kratom advocates will be thrilled to learn that the World Health Organization (WHO) decided not to recommend an international ban on kratom.

There were concerns that WHO’s Executive Committee on Drug Dependency (ECDD) would recommend international controls placed over kratom or a critical review that might have led to a recommendation to schedule the plant. Due to the efforts of the American Kratom Association and other associations and advocacy groups, more than 80,000 comments were submitted from the public, sharing their experiences with the plant.
