Many nervously awaited the WHO Decision on its review of kratom. Kratom advocates will be thrilled to learn that the World Health Organization (WHO) decided not to recommend an international ban on kratom.
There were concerns that WHO’s Executive Committee on Drug Dependency (ECDD) would recommend international controls placed over kratom or a critical review that might have led to a recommendation to schedule the plant. While the WHO does not police or regulate substances, recommendations carry significant weight. fortunately,
Due to the efforts of the American Kratom Association and other associations and advocacy groups, more than 80,000 comments were submitted from the public, sharing their experiences with the plant.
Kingdom Kratom thanks everyone who took the time to submit comments to WHO. Kratom’s widespread use as an aid for both energy and pain and its worldwide historical use weighed heavily on the WHO’s decision/
