Growing Kratom

Kratom or Mitragyna Speciosa is native to the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, with its largest producers being Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. The rainforests of Southeast Asia are highly successful at growing Kratom due to the hot and humid climate there.

The Kratom tree is an evergreen tree, towering at heights of up to 80 feet and is known and coveted for its glossy green leaves. These leaves can vary in color, size and potency, with the color of the vein of the leaf determining the strain of the Kratom. These strains are red, white, green, yellow and brown. The color of each leaf’s vein can change based on a variety of factors, such as amount of sunlight, genetics and the state of maturity the leaf is in.

Kratom farmers harvest based on the optimal maturity level of the leaves of the Mitragyna Speciosa tree. This is determined by the cosmetic appearance of the leaves as well as the time of harvest. These two factors affect the alkaloid levels of the leaves which is the Kratom trees most valuable trait of all. The older the plant the stronger the alkaloid content and the majority of the Kratom found on the market today come from plantations where the trees are harvested at a young age when they are weaker. As opposed to Kingdom Kratom’s farmers who only collect wild Kratom that is much older and stronger.

While it is not impossible to grow Kratom outside of its indigenous region, large-scale cultivation is known to be quite challenging when attempted by say the average Joe. This is due to the specific climate needs of the trees and the long length of time it takes to reach proper effective potency. So, although it most definitely can be done, I’m most cases it just makes much more sense to acquire your Kratom from a reputable company such as Kingdom Kratom.
